At Courtiers

Joy joined Courtiers in September 2023 as a Senior Paraplanner. Based at the Melbourne office in Derbyshire, she provided technical support to the Private Client Team and played a key role in launching a new report writing system, improving paraplanning efficiency and quality. 

In September 2024, Joy joined the Courtiers Private Client Team, pursuing her career in helping clients managing their wealth achieve financial freedom. 

Background / Experience

Joy started in Wealth Management in 2006 after graduating from University of Surrey. She became a Chartered Financial Planner in 2013, as well as achieving Fellowship (FPFS) status – the highest designation awarded by the Personal Finance Society. Overall, this demonstrates Joy’s commitment to continuing professional development in Financial Services. 

After working for several independent Wealth Management firms, Joy started her own paraplanning consultancy business in 2016, allowing her to balance her lifestyle around her growing family and her young children. Now the children are older, Joy is thrilled to be part of Courtiers and what she loves most once more: a client-facing Financial Planner! 

Outside Work

Outside work Joy is a member of her local Personal Finance Society (PFS) committee and the Treasurer of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for her children’s school. She enjoys playing badminton, painting, music, baking, table tennis, and the occasional round of golf.
