Courtiers is changing how certain allocations within the multi-asset funds are structured. Fundamentally if you’re in these funds, your investments will not be affected – our aim is to offer clarity on how and where your investments with Courtiers are held, and improve the way we manage your wealth.
What’s changing?
Currently, if you’re invested in any of our multi-asset (Total Return Cautious Risk, Total Return Balanced Risk and Total Return Growth) funds, you may also hold investments in our UK Equity Income, Global ex-UK Equity Income, and Investment Grade Bond Funds (known as UCITS funds) – within your multi asset fund holdings. These funds work in unison historically to help manage risk and diversification. Moving forward, a small portion of these UCITS allocations – approximately 5.97% will be moved and held directly in your portfolio(s).
Why are we making this change?
The multi-asset funds have been running since 2007, and UCITS funds since 2015. After careful review with input and views of our investment operations teams, we’ve determined that holding the allocations directly provides greater operational flexibility and clarity for clients on where their investments are ultimately held, without affecting how they meet your risk appetite and support diversification.
What impact will it have?
- Portfolio View: You may notice additional funds listed in your PFP and statements. For example, if invested in the Total Return Cautious Risk Fund you may see up to four funds in total, compared to the previous one fund. You will be able to drill down more directly into each fund.
- Products Affected: Initially, pensions and ISAs will be impacted, along with seed portfolios (investments within a bond wrapper) as the changes can be made without any tax restrictions or implications. General investment and collective accounts will require adviser-led discussions during annual reviews.
- Risk Profile: The alignment of your investments to your established attitude to risk remains unchanged. This is simply a structural adjustment, not a change in investment strategy.
When will the changes be implemented?
The process begins this week and will roll out gradually over the coming weeks. Updates may take time to reflect in the PFP due to pricing schedules.
